Do you have a tooth in pain?

Tooth pain is some of the worst pains you can be exposed to. Therefore, we at Tandlægerne Classensgade have chosen to say that you can always get an appointment as early as Monday if you wish! We will do everything we can to help you get rid of your pain. If you have a dental scare, we promise we'll take good care of you. Read below about various causes of toothache. At Tandlægerne Classensgade, all types of treatment are carried out 100% painlessly. So whatever the cause of your pain, we promise to get you through the process safely and painlessly.

Inflammation of the nerve

If you have pain from a specific tooth, it is often the nerve inside the tooth that is irritated. If there is a large hole in the tooth, the nerve may have been infected with bacteria and therefore inflamed. This type of pain will typically hurt spontaneously and soothe if lukewarm water enters the mouth. If you are swollen or only have a sore tooth when chewing on it, the inflammation has typically become so large that it has gone into the bone around the tooth. In both cases, the tooth will need to have a root canal treatmentif you want to keep it in your mouth. Therefore, seek a dentist as soon as possible.

What can you do until you get to the dentist?

  • Be sure to remove any food residues between the teeth as these may bother the tooth and gums.
  • If you are swollen, an ice pack or the like can typically help.
  • Take painkillers

Evil from the area of a wisdom stand

If your wisdom tooth is not fully advanced, it may well give rise to tenderness from time to time. As a rule, you should not be so nervous about this. However, if the soreness persists for more than just a few days or worsens to a level that is unbearable, there is reason to seek a dentist. As a rule, you can rinse locally with chlorhexidin between the tooth and the gums to remove whatever may lie in the gum pocket. However, sometimes it is best considered to remove the tooth. One may experience raising up around a wisdom tooth. In this case, it is a good idea to get to the dentist fairly quickly. If the swelling develops a lot and if you have difficulty breathing, a doctor is sought immediately.

What can you do until you get to the dentist?

  • Over-the-counter painkillers will typically ease symptoms until you get to the dentist
  • At the pharmacy can be purchased mouthwash with 0.1-0.2% chlorhexidin. This will typically take some of any swelling.

Gingivitis

Severe gingivitis involving the bone can cause pain and tooth abscesses. If you have a swelling on your gums also called a tooth abscess, it is a good idea to apply for a dentist as soon as possible. Tooth abscesses are caused by bacteria and these bacteria can spread to other places in the body and cause other serious diseases. Gingivitis of this species is also termed periodontitis and is a disease a large part of the population has without really knowing it. Periodontitis can contribute to other diseases such as blood clots and other cardiovascular disease. It is therefore important to have your teeth looked at if you suspect periodontitis.

What can you do until you get to the dentist?

  • Be sure to keep your teeth clean. This requires both tooth brushing and cleaning between the teeth with intermittent brushes and/or toothpicks
  • At the pharmacy can be purchased mouthwash with 0.1-0.2% chlorhexidin. This will typically take some of any swelling. However, it is important that you seek a dentist quickly as otherwise chlorhexidin can cause an encapsulation of the inflammation, which will result in a worsening of the condition.

Other causes of pain from the mouth

Pain from the mouth and teeth can have many other causes. These may include cracked teeth, tooth decay, poor or non-dense fillings, as well as crowns, teeth cutter and more. Finally, the pain can also "radiate" down to the teeth, even if the cause does not come from the mouth, but from sinuses or the like, for example. It is therefore important to have your teeth examined in order to rule out the fact that something is wrong in this area. In cases where we find nothing alarming, we typically recommend seeking a specialist in ear, nose, throat diseases alternatively own doctor.

We promise to take good care of you

The best greetings
